The code was initially developed by Shidong Zhang for his PhD thesis, which was supervised by Prof. Werner Lehnert and Prof. Steven B. Beale. Detailed model descriptions and simulation results can be found in the thesis: "Modeling and Simulation of Polymer Electrolyte Fuel Cells."
